Tobias Umbeck

Dr. Tobias Umbeck is a member of our Advanced Manufacturing and Services and Change Management practices. He serves as the office head in Munich.

With nearly 20 years of consulting expertise, Tobias focuses primarily on transformations, including large transformation management offices, post-merger integration, digital and AI and commercial excellence.

His recent work involved sectors like elevator equipment, material handling, access solutions, construction and commercial air transport. He advises clients worldwide and previously worked in our Melbourne office.

Tobias's preeminent engagements have included:

• His leadership of a successful performance improvement program at a leading global manufacturing company with €350M EBIT impact;

• The successful post-merger integration of two world market leaders.

He was appointed to our partnership in 2014.

Prior to joining us, Tobias held senior management positions for the Latin American airline TACA, based in El Salvador. While there, his responsibilities spanned strategic planning, budgeting, fleet management and alliances, as well as the set-up of a new low-cost carrier.

He holds a Ph.D. in Strategic Management from Universität der Bundeswehr, an MBA from Temple University (USA), and a degree in industrial engineering and management from the University of Karlsruhe.

A proud father of two daughters, Tobias enjoys ocean swimming, basketball and traveling.
