He has worked extensively with the energy industry's leading players over the past 25 years, including international majors, national oil companies, liquefied natural gas companies, investment funds, multilateral development agencies and other financial institutions, as well as with oilfield and engineering service companies in the US, Europe, Middle East, Latin America and Africa. These projects have covered strategy, performance improvement, organization, project structuring and venture configuration.
Luis has also worked with several investors (corporate and financial) to develop entry strategies in new energy segments and new geographies and to develop acquisition business cases. He actively supports private equity funds by evaluating investment opportunities and improving the performance of their portfolio companies.
Luis previously worked in Bain's London office, where he served as the leader of Bain's EMEA Oil & Gas practice.
His prior work experience includes a non-executive directorships of a resources company and a utility company.
Luis studied Economics at Universidad de Los Andes in Colombia.
