Doug is an expert in the firm's Customer Strategy & Marketing practice, with deep expertise in Marketing Excellence. He joined Bain through the acquisition of FRWD in 2018, where he was President and Partner responsible for building the team, unique capabilities and client promoters to grow the business. He continues in a leadership role helping scale FRWD expertise globally.
Doug is a proven marketing and operational executive with a track record of generating marketing innovation to unlock transformational top and bottom line results, in growth-oriented and cost-focused business environments. He has applied digital methods to speed up growth for big, slower-moving incumbents and smaller insurgents alike.
At Bain, his focus is on helping align CMOs and their teams with the broader C-suite agenda to unleash the full potential of marketing in the digital age. He does that with a practitioner's understanding of how brands grow and how teams perform in various contexts. His deep experience as a client and agency leader help quickly identify opportunities and size and prioritize levers across the full value-creation chain in marketing: product and brand, communications, measurement and decision agility, and operating model including people, process and technology.
Prior to Bain and FRWD, Doug served as VP Advertising & Media at General Mills, EVP at Saatchi & Saatchi NY, and VP at BBDO NY.
He has been recognized as a Media Maven by Advertising Age, and with his teams has won multiple Effies, Cannes Lions, Edison and industry-specific awards for breakthrough results across Food, Beverage, Restaurant, Pharma, Financial Services and other categories.
