Jean-Claude Ramirez is a partner and director based in Bain & Company's São Paulo office. He joined Bain in 1997 and has more than 20 years of experience in management consulting.
Jean-Claude has worked with top management of large national and multinational groups in industries such as telecom, financial services, media, technology, airlines, energy, consumer goods, auto parts, construction and retail in Latin America. He formerly led the Financial Services, Enterprise Technology and Organization practices in South America.
Jean-Claude has led engagements addressing corporate strategy, business unit growth strategy, corporate strategic planning, corporate restructuring, M&A, IT strategy, customer segmentation and loyalty, marketing and sales effectiveness, operational excellence, strategic/capability sourcing and organizational redesign.
Prior to joining Bain, he worked for 7 years at Hibbitt, Karlsson & Sorensen, Inc. (USA), the producer of a state-of-the-art simulation software package, where he worked in the areas of product development, customer support, and client and personnel training.
He graduated magna cum laude in Mechanical Engineering and holds a Master in Sciences in Applied Mathematics, a Master in Sciences and a Ph.D. in Solid Mechanics all from Brown University (USA). He also studied Business Administration at IMD (Switzerland).
He lived for 12 years in Central America and 15 years in the USA and has had extensive exposure to Argentina. Jean-Claude is fluent in Portuguese, English, Spanish and French.
