The Young Global Leader honor is bestowed by the World Economic Forum each year to recognize the most distinguished leaders under the age of 38, who are shaking up policy, society and the world around them.

Nominated from around the world, the young leaders are assessed according to rigorous selection criteria and have demonstrated their commitment to serving society. The Forum of YGLs works closely with the World Economic Forum to integrate young leaders into deep interaction with other stakeholders of global society.

Lucy d'Arville is a partner with Bain & Company in Sydney and a Young Global Leader since 2019. She joined Bain in 2005 in Sydney and returned in 2012 broadening her general management expertise for four years at Achilles Group in London. She joined Achilles in a strategy role; then was Director of Carbon Reduction Services, starting a new business to measure and reduce greenhouse gas emissions of suppliers; and finally was Global Sector Director FMCG–establishing a global supplier prequalification system for 100,000+ suppliers. She now leads Bain Australia's Healthcare practice and is a core member of Bain's APAC Financial Services and Performance Improvement practices. Lucy has been active in social engagement from a young age and is recognized for her inspirational leadership and commitment to investing in people at Bain. She has significantly contributed to combating disadvantage through local organizations such as OzHarvest, and Restacking the Odds, and her leadership of Bain's Social Impact program.

Fabrice Franzen is a partner in the South Africa office of Bain & Company, a member of the firm’s Global Financial Services Practice and a Young Global Leader since 2014. In addition to his full-time commitment to growing the practice in the region, he is highly engaged in pro bono efforts, including leading Bain’s community program Bain Cares and working with disadvantaged youth on the Alexandra Township educational project where he advises a local NGO in developing educational programs for teenagers.

Torsten Lichtenau is a partner with Bain & Company in London and was named a Young Global Leader in 2016. He has accumulated extensive international experience since joining the firm in 2004, having been based in Bain's London, Dusseldorf and Johannesburg offices and having worked in Europe, Africa and the US. Recognized as a top performer with unique expertise in corporate transformations, he has worked across industries with a focus on oil and gas. He heads the Results Delivery® practice in the UK and is a key member in Bain's Global Organization practice, with major IP contributions on complexity reduction. He is a core trainer at the Bain Academy in South Africa, developing the next generation of Africa's leaders. Torsten holds a PhD in business administration from the WHU, summa cum laude, and graduated with distinction in business administration from Saarland University.

Prashant Sarin is a partner in Bain & Company's Silicon Valley office. He is an active contributor to the firm's Telecommunications, Media and Technology, Strategy and Organization practices. Since joining Bain in 2006, Prashant has directed transformation programs with large family-managed business conglomerates in the US, Southeast Asia and India. Prashant was selected as one of India's Hottest "40 Under 40" business leaders by The Economic Times in 2015, and as one of India's 25 Hottest Young Executives by Business Today in 2014. He was named a Young Global Leader in 2015.

Seow-Chien Chew is a partner in Bain’s Southeast Asia office and heads the Customer Strategy & Marketing capability in the region. She is also a member of the Financial Services practice in Bain Southeast Asia and became a Young Global Leader alumna in 2016. She was the first Malaysian woman to be named a partner in a Western consultancy firm, and is a thought leader on innovative financial models for emerging markets. Seow-Chien is actively involved in the community. She is the founder of Bain Southeast Asia’s Bain Cares team, running training programs and providing pro bono consulting for nonprofit organizations. She is also highly committed to people development through her championing of Southeast Asia’s Women@Bain program.

Julien Faye is a partner in the Dubai office and has been a Young Global Leader alumnus since 2014, recognized for his professional achievement and social contribution. Apart from heading Bain’s Middle East Financial Services practice, Julien is active in local projects that support the long-term sustainability of society at large. For example, he has helped Saudi companies contribute to the diversification of the economy, leading to a better integration of the local population in the world economy. He has also helped government-related entities of Abu Dhabi support the development of a sustainable economy and society.

Henrik Naujoks is a partner in the Dusseldorf office. A Young Global Leader alumnus since 2012, Henrik is the leader of Bain’s Financial Services practice in EMEA and has been a pioneer in his successful efforts to couple business with social entrepreneurship at Bain. He is active on several boards—including the board of Child and Youth Finance and the Dean’s Advisory Board at WHU—and has worked to support social entrepreneurs, especially in the areas of strategy, business planning and governance. With several other Young Global Leaders, he founded Learn Money, an initiative to expand financial literacy.

Tamara Olsen is a partner in Bain & Company's Boston office and recently became a Young Global Leader alumna. Apart from her professional achievements—she is a leader in Bain’s Global Healthcare practice—Tamara was also recognized by the Forum for her societal contributions in economic empowerment and in education reform with the Bridgespan Group. Tamara is "incredibly honored to be a part of this group of leaders and contribute to YGL’s work and impact."
