Christophe de Mahieu is a partner based in Bain & Company's Middle East office. He is a core member of the firm's Energy & Natural Resources (Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Mining, Utilities & Renewables), Private Equity and Sovereign Wealth practices
Christophe has more than 25 years of experience in management consulting, combined with 10 years in senior-line management responsibilities with ExxonMobil and Investcorp, respectively.
He has extensively advised leading regional and global corporations and institutions on business strategy, M&A, due diligence, performance transformation and organization redesign.
In the oil & gas space, he has advised leading IOCs and NOCs across the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, covering the entire value chain, from E&P to petrochemicals. In the utilities sphere, he has developed a unique expertise in renewables and energy conservation programs.
Christophe began his career with Exxon Corporation, where he held several management roles across Europe and the US. He subsequently joined another leading US management consulting firm. During his 14 years there, he focused on advising leading clients both regionally and globally. He led the firm’s Middle East & Asia Pacific Energy, Minerals and Chemicals practice for eight years and was a core member of the global Corporate Finance practice.
Between 2007 and 2011, Christophe was a member of Investcorp Executive Committee and the co-head of Investcorp's $1.1 billion Gulf Growth Capital Fund.
