Bain & Company taps Joshua Weisbrod to lead its Americas Healthcare Practice

New York – October 3, 2019 – Bain & Company has appointed Joshua Weisbrod, an 18-year veteran of the firm, to lead its Americas Healthcare practice. Weisbrod will remain based in Bain & Company’s New York office where he has a long and successful track record advising healthcare companies on growth strategy, operating model improvements, mergers and acquisitions and other critical business issues.

Bain & Company’s Americas Healthcare practice has grown more than 3x over the last decade. Weisbrod is poised to work with Bain’s Healthcare practice partner team to continue this growth and deliver unmatched client results across the healthcare value chain, including for healthcare investors, where Bain is the clear choice of consulting partners.

“I am excited to welcome Josh to Bain’s Healthcare leadership team and to support his commitment to our clients and our world-class team of consultants and advisors” said Tim van Biesen, a partner with Bain & Company and global head of the firm’s Healthcare practice. “Under Josh’s leadership, we will continue to lead our sector in supporting patient-centric care, driving innovation, and adapting to the rapidly shifting policy and competitive landscape.”

In his new role, Weisbrod will be responsible for business and client development as well as the management of the practice’s Americas-based consultants, professional staff and industry executive network. He will also focus on developing new products and intellectual property for the firm, while continuing to expand the Americas Healthcare practice’s external footprint.

“I look forward to working with such a great team to continue our mission of partnering with change-oriented healthcare executives to deliver lasting results and set new standards in their spaces,” Weisbrod said. “As a team, we’re confident and energized.”

Over the past two decades, Weisbrod has advised clients across the healthcare sector on a range of issues, including portfolio reorientation, core and adjacency growth strategy development and implementation, cost transformations, customer-led growth, and operating model re-design. Weisbrod has also led more than 50 due diligence projects for financial and corporate sponsors, and led the development of other seminal industry research, including the Frontline of Healthcare report, which is often cited by major media and industry trade publications.

In addition to his work with clients, Weisbrod has held a number of leadership roles in the areas of staffing and recruiting for Bain's New York office.

Prior to joining Bain & Company in 2001, Weisbrod was a Financial Services Analyst for the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington, DC. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
