WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH:

As a member of the Global Accounting team, the Mexico Accounting Director leads a team which handles several accounting disciplines for Bain’s Spanish speaking countries within North and South America. You’ll seek to balance multiple competing priorities and initiatives seamlessly, while being a source of inspiration and development for team members. You’ll act as an ambassador for the finance function with other business function leaders and the consulting community. You will also ensure that workstreams are run in the most effective and efficient manner to serve the overall firm strategy.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

  • Direct an Accounting team, ensuring monthly results are reported accurately and timely to management and/or external parties in accordance with local and US GAAP.
  • Ensure the annual audit process is performed timely and efficiently for your discipline, acting as the relationship owner with the local audit partner.
  • Coordinate accounting services and integrate with operating needs.
  • Ensure local adherence to global accounting policies and procedures while also developing and maintaining key local documentation to ensure effective and efficient operations.
  • Use your experience to design and implement new technologies and ways of working to realize the full potential of the team.
  • Manage direct reports by providing leadership and support, building a world class team.
  • Be responsible for hiring, training, setting goals, and providing expertise, as needed.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting or Business
  • Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent certification
  • 10-12 years previous experience in accounting or finance in a multinational corporate environment, including experience collaborating with external advisers on complex accounting matters on a global scale.
  • Proficient in English and Spanish.
  • Demonstrated ability to work seamlessly with teams across borders, time zones, and languages.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple teams and priorities.
  • Thorough knowledge of IFRS.
  • Mastery of US GAAP and accounting operations.
  • Big 4 experience preferred.
  • Comprehensive experience in accounting systems
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and multi-tasking skills; organized and attentive to details.  One who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses the ability to independently manage and execute multiple projects.
