Hernan Saenz is the leader of our Global and Americas Performance Improvement practice. Within performance improvement, Hernan focuses on sustainable supply chains and operations, digital traceability, and circular transformation. A 25-year firm veteran, he is also a core member in our Strategy, Advanced Manufacturing & Services and Healthcare & Life Sciences practices.
Hernan’s firm experience has spanned North and Latin America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. He previously served as the managing partner of our Dallas, Houston and Mexico City offices.
Hernan specializes in accelerated performance transformations, full potential programs, operations and value chain reinvention, and large-scale change efforts. He has extensive expertise across a number of industries, including airlines, consumer goods and retail, industrial products and services, distribution, and healthcare. Hernan also supports clients on corporate and business unit strategy, growth and commercial excellence, and organizational and supply chain realignment.
Circularity is not just about protecting climate and our planet’s biocapacity, but about enabling massive and resilient economic growth – circular models are the future and the first companies to get there will establish competitive advantage.
Over the last decade, Hernan has led our firm's relationship with one of the world’s leading airlines, partnering with the organization on its journey to a 10x expansion of its stock price. In addition, he has focused much of his work in helping clients across industries build traceable and circular value chains and business models.
In addition to his client work, Hernan is a member of our firm's Board of Directors, including its Strategy, M&A, and DEI Committees. He also serves on our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council and is the founder of our Latinos at Bain (LATBA) group, an affinity network that focuses on the recruitment, development and retention of top Latino business talent.
In 2011, he was named to Consulting Magazine's annual "Top 25 Consultants“ global list in recognition of his work with clients across industries.
Prior to joining us in 1998, Hernan was an economics faculty member at INCAE in Latin America. He was also a principal for another consulting firm, where he served financial institutions and regulatory entities across Latin America.
Hernan holds an MBA and an MILR from Cornell University, an M.S. in economics from Stanford University, and a B.A. in economics from Harvard University.
