Expertise
Hernan Saenz is a partner based in our Dallas office. He leads our global Performance Improvement practice, which focuses on cost transformations and operational excellence. He is also a leader in our Strategy, Organization and Advanced Manufacturing & Services practices.
With over 20 years of consulting experience, Hernan has worked in North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. He previously served as managing partner of Bain's Dallas, Houston and Mexico offices.
Hernan specializes in corporate transformations, full potential programs, cost and operational turnarounds, and large-scale change efforts. He has extensive expertise in cost and transformation across a number of industries, including airlines, consumer goods and retail, industrial products and services, distribution and healthcare. He also assists clients in areas such as corporate and business unit strategy, growth and international expansion, and organizational and supply chain realignment.
In 2011, he was named to Consulting Magazine's annual "Top 25 Consultants" in recognition for his work with clients across industries over the last 15 years.
In addition to his client work, Hernan is the founder of the firm's Latinos at Bain group, an affinity network that focuses on the recruitment, development and retention of the top Latino business talent.
Hernan is also a visiting senior lecturer in the Department of Management and Organizations at Cornell University's SC Johnson College of Business.
Prior to joining Bain in 1998, Hernan was a faculty member in economics at INCAE, a business school in Latin America. In addition, he was a Principal at a consulting firm serving financial institutions and regulatory entities in Latin America.
Hernan holds an MBA and an MILR from Cornell University, as well as an MS in economics from Stanford University. He is also a graduate of Harvard University, where he received a BA in economics.
