Mohamed Bassiouny

Mohamed Bassiouny is a member of our Energy & Natural Resources practice, with more than 13 years of consulting and industry experience across the Middle East.

Mohamed advises leading energy clients on their most critical strategy and transformation priorities. His work spans the energy value chain, including oil and gas, downstream and petrochemicals, utilities, renewables, and capital-intensive infrastructure. He has supported clients across a range of topics, including growth strategy, capital project performance, operating model and organization design, sustainability, and the energy transition. Combining strategic perspective with technical expertise, he helps clients translate ambitious priorities into practical, results-oriented transformation programs.

Mohamed has also advised on national energy strategies and broader economic priorities, including localization initiatives, supporting clients on agendas with significant institutional and economic impact.

Prior to joining Bain, Mohamed held engineering and leadership roles in Egypt's renewable energy sector, where he helped develop, commercialize, and deliver solar energy solutions.

Mohamed holds an MBA from INSEAD and a BSc in petroleum engineering from The American University in Cairo.
