Two companies have agreed on a merger, and both parties are only waiting for a regulator’s approval. The process often gets way too long, e.g. the merger of Yandex.Taxi and Uber was announced in July 2017 and was only completed in February 2018. How can both companies keep their independence until the formal approvals are granted, and how can they use the delay to prepare for the merger?
