Karl Zimmermann is a Senior Partner at Bain & Company and currently leads our Grocery and Mass practice in the Americas. He is also a member of our Performance Improvement practice.
Karl has almost 20 years of experience at Bain. He primarily supports food retail clients across various topics, including category management, sourcing (branded and fresh), mergers and acquisitions (diligence, integration), and performance improvement. Karl has particularly deep experience in the grocery, convenience, and value-oriented channels (hard discount and club).
In addition to client work, Karl is actively involved in Bain's recruiting and global training activities.
He holds an MBA from Dartmouth's Tuck School of Business and a BS in Finance from NYU Stern School of Business. Karl lives outside Boston with his wife, their four children, and their dog Hazel.
