Vegard Aas

Vegard is a member of our AI, Insights and Solutions practice, focusing on NEXT – Engine 2 innovation, business building, incubation, and new ventures.

With over 15 years of experience in startups, corporate innovation, and consulting, Vegard helps global growth companies scale ventures that drive meaningful impact. He supports clients on innovation strategy, operating model design, and venture building and focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence and advanced insights as strategic enablers of business performance.

Before joining Bain, he served as Head of Innovation at Telenor Group, where he co-led the launch of the world’s first fully digital mobile operator (OYA) in Singapore in collaboration with Google and Apple. He has also founded, scaled, and successfully exited two technology startups: Ava Security and NEXT DLP.

Vegard has also served as an advisor for developing country-level innovation strategies in the Nordics and the Middle East, defining innovation functions for global technology companies, and leading AI-driven transformation efforts such as technology acceleration and cost optimization. He has supported digital growth strategy, service road mapping, and IPO readiness for a major real estate group and has helped scale multiple SaaS businesses.

Vegard holds an M.Sc. in Industrial Economy and Technology Management from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and the National University of Singapore (NUS). He also holds AI, innovation, and digital product management certifications from MIT, Harvard, and Columbia.
