Pierluigi Serlenga

Pierluigi Serlenga is the Managing Partner of Bain & Company Italy.

Pierluigi co-leads our Global Aerospace, Defense and Government Services practice and is also part of our Advanced Manufacturing and Services team.

Since joining us in 2001, Pierluigi has served industrial clients across sectors, including aerospace, defense and government services, utilities and alternative energy, machinery, systems and equipment, and construction and building products.

He has a wide range of expertise across areas such as performance improvement, transformation, organization and mergers & acquisitions, as well as both business unit and corporate-level strategy. He has also led several business and operational due diligences on industrial goods and services players for both financial and industrial investors.

His case portfolio includes leading the comprehensive transformation of a $12B A&D player, spanning strategy, M&A, PI, operations and organization, yielding a disruptive impact on company financial performance and stock market recognition.

Apart from his client work, Pierluigi serves as chairman of our BGLAD efforts in Italy. He is also involved with both the CPC and local recruiting efforts.

Prior to joining us, he worked as a business analyst for Impemba & Associati.

He holds an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management, as well as an undergraduate degree in economics and business administration, with honors, from the University of Bari.

In his personal time, Pierluigi enjoys tennis, diving and skiing. He is deeply passionate about wildlife and nature conservation.
