Joel Benzimra

Joel is a senior partner in our Consumer Products practice, based in Paris.

He has over 30 years of consulting experience and has worked with global players in a wide range of categories, including beauty, wines & spirits, food, beverages, luxury products, automotive and travel & tourism. His experience also covers the retail side, brick & mortar and online. Specialized in strategy, marketing and sales, he helps his clients realize their growth ambitions, both organic and external.

Before joining Bain, Joel held several leadership roles in other major consulting firms, including the leadership of Consumer & Retail Practices at EMEA and then Global levels and the creation and leadership of a Digital Practice. He also has experience as an entrepreneur and angel investor.

Joel holds a Master of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a specialization in Finance & Economics, a Master degree in Finance and Marketing from HEC and a Bachelor in Philosophy from the University of Paris-Sorbonne.

Joel is fluent in French and English and proficient in Italian and Spanish. He has extensively traveled the world, worked across all continents and lived in several countries, including France, UK, US, Italy and the US.

In addition to his work at Bain, Joel has been contributing over time to several NGOs, in particular a charity facilitating retailers and manufacturers’ supply of non-food items to under-privileged populations and a French state-sponsored accelerator of environmental and social innovations and several organization in the medical field. Joel also served as the Vice President of the Board of the MIT Club in France.

Joel and his wife are the proud parents of two sons. He considers himself an amateur of Italian Renaissance paintings and an avid Asian art collector. He has a black belt in judo and is a krav maga practioner. Joel also enjoys interior decoration, traveling and good food.
