Bain & Company ranks on Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For list for the second year in a row

New York – Apr. 12, 2021 – Bain & Company is the only “premium three” management consultancy ranked on Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For® list for the second year in a row. The 2021 list, published today, is based on employees' attitudes about their workplace culture and values, opportunities for learning and growth, innovation, and the ability to reach their full potential. Bain & Company earned accolades for living into its “people first” reputation while fostering a supportive and transparent culture throughout the pandemic. Its employees also commented on the honest conversations the firm has encouraged around diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and the tangible steps the firm has taken toward its DEI commitments over the past year.

“The pandemic brought unprecedented challenges to our people, our clients and our communities last year,” said Russ Hagey, Bain & Company’s Chief Talent Officer. “As a firm, we banded together to find new ways of working, focusing on transparent, frequent communications amongst our global teams. This open dialogue has helped us to push the boundaries of traditional teaming, fostering increased flexibility, virtual collaboration and a holistic approach to wellbeing for our people.”

While many organizations talk about setting employees up for success, Bain & Company has established a higher bar for itself: to ensure that all employees thrive, both personally and professionally.

Bain & Company invests heavily in the professional development of its employees through training, mentorship and sponsorship, flexible working models, and a wide variety of career development opportunities. The firm’s alumni credit their Bain training and experience with starting successful businesses, assuming senior leadership roles at top firms across a wide range of industries and serving as leaders of non-profit organizations.

At the root of Bain’s employee-focused culture is a commitment to attracting and developing the best talent, with diverse backgrounds, styles, skills and perspectives. This commitment to DEI is a strategic priority for the firm and a critical factor for its success.

“Diversity, equity and inclusion were huge topics in the business community last year,” said Julie Coffman, Bain’s Chief Diversity Officer and head of the firm’s global DEI consulting practice. “We’ve been on our own DEI journey for nearly three decades, and our ultimate goal is to lead with sustained progress, beyond this moment in time. We are harnessing the intense passion for change we’ve felt from our people, our clients and our communities to achieve the bold new DEI aspirations we set last year and to lead the way on inclusion and belonging in the workplace.”

This philosophy has helped Bain & Company earn numerous recognitions around the world as a great place to work. The firm was named as the #1 company in Glassdoor’s annual “Best Places to Work” list in 2021 and has consistently placed in the top 4 since the ranking’s inception. Bain & Company was named as one of Fortune’s “Best Workplaces for Women” in 2020 as well as one of Fortune’s “Best Workplaces for Diversity” in 2019. Additionally, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation recognized Bain & Company as one of the “Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality” in 2021, with the firm earning a perfect score on the organization’s annual Corporate Equality Index (CEI) for 15 consecutive years. Among its many other awards, Bain & Company has ranked in Mogul’s “Top 100 Best Places to Work for Generation Z in 2019,” and has also taken the top spot in Vault’s “Best Consulting Firms to Work For” ranking in 2021.
