We’re pleased to host Bain’s Freshman Leadership Accelerator (FLA) Program, a hybrid freshman diversity program designed to provide undergraduate students with exposure to casing and leadership skill development.
The Freshman Leadership Accelerator Program is focused on giving high-achieving undergraduate freshman/first year students who identify as Black, Hispanic/Latinx or Indigenous (Native American, Alaska Native, Inuit, Métis and First Nations), exposure to leaders in business and to the consulting world.
Through FLA, you will:
- Hear from business leaders and connect with other undergraduate students through a series of virtual and in person sessions
- Gain exposure to consulting through a one-day case simulation
- Have an opportunity to interview early for Bain’s 2024 Building Entrepreneurial Leaders (BEL) Program
In person programming for FLA will take place in several Bain offices across the U.S. in the spring. Exact dates will be provided to those who are selected for the program.
We encourage you to apply if you meet the following criteria:
- Current freshman/first year students
- Identify as Black, Hispanic/Latinx or Indigenous (Native American, Alaska Native, Inuit, Métis and First Nations)
- Outstanding academic performance
- Strong leadership and team skills
- Energized by solving tough problems and driving real impact

Will FLA be in-person or virtual?
We’re planning for a pre-program webinar and a 1.5-day in-person summit in the spring but are monitoring the COVID situation closely and will adjust to a fully virtual format if needed. Dates will be provided to those selected for the program.

What are the eligibility requirements? Are non-US citizens eligible to participate?
All freshman/first year students, who plans to graduate in winter 2025 or spring/summer 2026, and identify as Black, Hispanic/Latinx or Indigenous (Native American, Alaska Native, Inuit, Métis and First Nations). Non-US citizens are eligible to participate, however, participants must attend university in the United States.

Do I need to have any experience in consulting to participate?
No, you do not need to have any prior background in consulting to have a meaningful experience in the FLA program. We encourage students from all majors and backgrounds to apply.

How do I apply to Bain’s FLA program?
If you’re interested, you should submit an application on Bain’s website by February 21st at 11:59pm PST. Following the deadline, you will be asked to answer several questions in a video format through HireVue (additional details to be provided to applicants following the application deadline).

When will decisions be communicated?
Program decisions will be communicated by late March.

If I am not selected for FLA, can I still apply to Bain in the future? What can I do to stay in touch with Bain?
Absolutely, and we encourage it! FLA is a highly selective program; if you are not selected, we would like to stay connected regarding the Building Entrepreneurial Leaders (BEL) and Associate Consultant Intern (ACI) roles.
