Senior Engineer, DevOps and Assurance
Description & Requirements
What makes us a great place to work
We are proud to be consistently recognized as one of the world's best places to work, a champion of diversity and a model of social responsibility. We are currently ranked the number one consulting firm on Glassdoor's Best Places to Work list and have maintained a spot in the top four since its founding in 2009. Extraordinary teams are at the heart of our business strategy, but these do not happen by chance. They require intentional focus on bringing together a broad set of backgrounds, cultures, experiences, perspectives, and skills in a supportive and inclusive work environment. We hire people with exceptional talent and create an environment in which every individual can thrive professionally and personally.
Who you'll work with
You will be part of a team building Bain's integrated suite of agentic decisioning tools that gives large organizations always-on intelligence across their most important growth decisions. The role sits at an intersection few organizations can offer: the analytical depth and client access of a top-tier consultancy, the technical ambition of a product company, and engineering work at the frontier of applied AI.
You will work inside Bain's standing product team, building software that helps the world's largest companies answer the questions that drive their business: where to invest, where to focus, and how to win. The impact of what you build is direct and immediate, and the platform compounds in value with every release.
The platform has two layers working together: an agentic core and a set of decision modules, each solving a distinct commercial problem. The build lifecycle is connected to the real world: as case teams work alongside clients across industries and geographies, that feedback flows straight back to engineering and into the product. Every client engagement makes the platform smarter, broader, and more resilient.
This is a startup inside an established company. You get genuine early-stage ownership and real influence over architecture and product direction, backed by Bain's global scale, client relationships, and leadership commitment; the pace of a startup with the runway of a global firm.
We are looking for DevOps engineers who see how to make the platform more reliable and resilient and bring that instinct to every sprint without being asked, and who are comfortable with problems that do not have a known answer. The work involves cloud-native infrastructure, CI/CD for a multi-service platform, and deployment problems with no off-the-shelf answer.
Experience supporting agentic systems matters: how AI backend services are deployed and monitored, evaluation pipelines, and the operational demands of production LLM workloads. This is applied AI in production, at scale, with real users depending on what you build. The field is moving quickly and the team is built to move with it, so the willingness to keep learning counts for as much as what you already know.
Where you'll fit within the team
The DevOps Engineer works directly under the Senior DevOps Engineer within the Growth AI Performance System Platform and Security team, contributing to the cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and observability systems that the entire platform runs on. This is a hands-on implementation role: you will build and maintain the infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and developer tooling that the engineering team depends on, working under the direction of the Senior DevOps Engineer and developing progressively more ownership as you grow.
You will get broad exposure to the full platform stack: from the infrastructure that hosts AI services and data pipelines through to the deployment workflows that get product changes into the hands of real users on live engagements. This cross-cutting view makes it an excellent role for an engineer who wants to develop deep expertise in cloud-native platform engineering and AI infrastructure in a fast-moving, production environment.
You will work across the platform and product modules focused on marketing ROI, brand, and pricing strategy, contributing to the infrastructure and deployment systems that keep those modules running reliably for enterprise clients. When something goes wrong in a live client deployment, the DevOps team is in the room.
This role is based in Warsaw or Sao Paulo, working as part of a globally distributed platform team alongside the Senior DevOps Engineer. You will develop the infrastructure engineering skills and platform knowledge to take on increasing ownership over time, with a clear path toward the Senior DevOps Engineer role.
What you'll do
Infrastructure and environment management
· Contribute to the provisioning and management of cloud infrastructure for the Growth AI Performance System platform on Azure or AWS (including compute, networking, storage, and managed services), using infrastructure-as-code practices under the direction of the Senior DevOps Engineer
· Support the maintenance of environment parity across development, staging, and production; contribute to environment provisioning, configuration management, and the automation that keeps environments consistent and reliable
· Build and maintain infrastructure automation scripts and configuration management tooling; learn and apply infrastructure-as-code practices to all infrastructure changes, ensuring changes are versioned, reviewed, and deployed through code
· Contribute to the design and implementation of infrastructure for AI platform workloads: container orchestration, API management, and the storage and compute patterns that LLM services and agentic workflows require
CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling
· Build and maintain CI/CD pipeline components for Growth AI Performance System platform services (including AI backend services, frontend applications, and data pipelines), implementing automated testing steps, deployment stages, and quality gates under the direction of the Senior DevOps Engineer
· Maintain the local development environment and developer onboarding tooling; keep documentation current, resolve developer environment issues quickly, and contribute to the developer experience improvements that keep a distributed engineering team productive
· Support release engineering operations: contribute to deployment coordination, monitor deployments in progress, and participate in rollback and incident response procedures
· Learn and develop fluency with the full CI/CD toolchain and deployment workflow; take on progressively more ownership of specific pipeline areas as your expertise grows
Observability, monitoring and incident support
· Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting for platform services: set up structured logging, metrics collection, and alerting thresholds that give the engineering team visibility into service health and surface issues before they affect live client deployments
· Contribute to the build of AI and agentic observability tooling under the direction of the Senior DevOps Engineer: implementing tracing for agentic execution, monitoring LLM API usage and latency, and structured logging for multi-step agent workflows
· Support incident response for infrastructure and platform failures: monitor alerts, participate in diagnosis, contribute to remediation, and document findings in a form that supports post-incident review and platform improvement
· Develop familiarity with the platform's SLOs, alerting thresholds, and reliability standards; learn to read platform health dashboards accurately and understand what degradation signals require escalation
About you
Technical
· Solid foundation in cloud infrastructure on Azure or AWS: compute, networking, storage, and managed services; growing proficiency with provisioning and managing cloud resources through infrastructure-as-code
· Working experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation: able to build, maintain, and debug pipeline stages including automated testing, artifact management, and deployment steps
· Proficiency with Docker and containerized deployments; working familiarity with Kubernetes-based orchestration in a production environment
· Proficiency in Linux administration and scripting (Python and Bash) for infrastructure automation tasks; disciplined use of version control for infrastructure codebases
· Working knowledge of monitoring and alerting tooling: able to set up structured logging, configure metrics collection, and create alerting rules that surface meaningful signals
· Exposure to or genuine interest in MLOps and AI infrastructure patterns, how LLM services are deployed and monitored, and what the infrastructure requirements of agentic systems look like in production
· Understanding of security fundamentals for cloud-native infrastructure: IAM, secrets management, network security, and the DevSecOps practices that embed security into deployment workflows
· Active use of AI-assisted development tools to accelerate infrastructure work, diagnose issues faster, and develop AI infrastructure skills
Experience
· 3 or more years in DevOps, platform engineering, or infrastructure engineering roles with hands-on experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure
· Track record of contributing to production infrastructure and deployment systems that real services and users depend on, not just development or test environments
