Share your journey to Bain.

I’m originally from Northern California and started college at Vanderbilt in 2017, where I majored in History and HOD. I first learned about the world of management consulting from a professor at Vanderbilt toward the end of my sophomore year. After a few months of learning about the industry, meeting with alumni working at various firms, and preparing for interviews, I secured an internship with Bain Dallas for the summer of 2020. While my internship ended up being virtual, I still had a fantastic experience and, after graduating, moved to Dallas, Texas—knowing almost nothing about the state—to start full-time as an Associate Consultant.

How did you know that Bain was the right company for you?

I knew almost immediately that Bain was the best place for me to start my career. I prioritize constant learning and growth, and I’m energized by solving challenging problems. I’m also a summer camp counselor at heart (read: I value organizations that invest in highly supportive team environments where people truly care).

The Vandy grads I met during my recruiting process described Bain in a way that directly aligned with my personal interests and values. Since joining Bain full-time, I can confidently say they weren’t pulling the wool over my eyes.

“Build Your Own Bain” means creating a thriving career on your own terms. How have you been able to “Build Your Own Bain?”

During my time at Bain, I’ve worked on 8+ highly impactful projects with clients across a broad range of industries, alongside some of the most brilliant, hardworking, and compassionate people I’ve ever met. Through these experiences, I’ve felt incredibly supported by my teammates and clients as I’ve developed my personal brand of business acumen and leadership.

Beyond casework, I’ve built a full Bain experience by pursuing my passions—leading Vanderbilt recruiting efforts with the amazing Molly Hundley, serving as my Associate Consultant class president, contributing to various initiatives (e.g., planning office events and supporting the design of new mentorship programs), and even getting the entire Bain Texas office system to wear floral shirts on Fridays.
