    Gain firsthand exposure to the world of consulting. You'll work directly with consultants on a team of other interns helping with real client work. Your mentors will teach you the basics of Bain’s consulting toolkit, including how to conduct research, run analyses, and interview, which will prepare you to problem-solve and succeed in practically any role.

  • ASSOCIATE CONSULTANT

    Associate consultant

    Learn how to work directly with our clients—some of the world’s most innovative companies—and manage discrete pieces of the analysis. You’ll learn to crack difficult business problems and to manage client relationships. We’ll also help you gain mastery over the full Bain consulting toolkit, which helps you identify what’s most important and propose solutions.

  • SENIOR ASSOCIATE CONSULTANT

    Senior associate consultant

    If you distinguish yourself by producing impactful analyses and developing deeper client relationships, you’ll earn the “senior” title. You'll be given more responsibility and entrusted to lead portions of the case. We’ll teach you to craft more complex and strategic client solutions and ask you to mentor other associate consultants.  

  • CONSULTANT

    Consultant

    As a consultant, you’ll get to lead cases, which means leading others. We’ll train you until your consulting toolkit reaches a point of “unconscious competence,” at which point you can apply it to oversee increasingly complex analyses. You’ll learn strategies for developing zero-defect materials, to manage experts and associate consultants on cases, and to build enduring relationships with clients.

  • MANAGER

    Manager

    You’ll be empowered to run case teams on your own, as you see fit. That means selecting the team from among consultants and experts and owning the outcome. We’ll provide you the mentorship and tools you need to begin building your network and pursuing more comprehensive client relationships. In this role, we’ll focus even more resources on helping you develop your leadership skills.  

  • SENIOR MANAGER

    Senior manager

    As a senior manager, you’re on the path to leadership. You’ll have demonstrated the ability to manage others' time and we’ll entrust you with handling the more complex cases. You’ll learn to become highly skilled at spotting problems, developing hypotheses, coordinating resources, and cleverly applying the experiences of your team and your supervisor to maximum effect.

    Associate partner

    At this level, you’ll be fully trusted to handle complex client cases and ensure they achieve remarkable outcomes. You’ll apprentice directly under a partner who’ll teach you to frame problems, think, and resolve issues like a senior executive would. Our clients will start to see you as a peer and you'll practice developing new business on your own. 

  • PARTNER

    Partner

    As a partner, you’ll help steer the company. You’ll take full responsibility for finding new client business and delivering exceptional client results. Bain will support you in cultivating a personal network that becomes a recurring source of new business, and you’ll get to set the vision. 

Intern
