How did you come to work at Bain?

I started my career doing digital design for a fashion company but after a few years, decided fashion wasn’t my calling. I moved on to try education and fintech before applying to grad school to learn to build technology. I felt like I had honed my design craft but lacked the skills to build those designs and bring them to life. So, in 2019, I attended New York University to get my degree in emerging technology and interactive media, and to learn physical computing and game design.

After I returned to Bangkok, I felt called to create my own company. While working on the business plan, I came across a job posting by Bain on LinkedIn. At first, I was surprised to learn that management consulting companies like Bain hire designers, but thought it’d be an interesting opportunity to explore new industries. It was simply the best decision. This is my favorite job ever so far. I have no plans to leave. Though eventually, when the time is right, I do want to start something of my own.

What did you know going in?

I actually knew very little about Bain and management consulting. I found Bain on LinkedIn and applied without expecting much. All I knew was that management consulting would give me exposure to lots of exciting clients and industries. And I knew it had a very good reputation for work culture. I had no idea what my role would be. Though after two years, I can say this is the most rewarding job I’ve ever had.

What should candidates know?

Bain is an awesome place because of the people! All my colleagues are smart, talented, and warm. Everyone lives up to the motto, “A Bainie never lets another Bainie fail.” We provide each other help and motivation. Bain also has great perks and they really look out for your professional development.

Are you part of any affinity groups?

I’m part of Women at Bain (WAB) in Southeast Asia. I love it as a platform for women within the company to connect and learn from each other. It’s been a great experience getting to organize events like WAB summit and see women from so many regions gather both professionally and personally. I might even say WAB is my greatest source of inspiration at Bain!
