Thomas Lustgarten

Thomas Lustgarten is the global leader of Bain’s Advanced Manufacturing & Services practice, Bain’s largest global Business Unit. In this capacity, he has been instrumental in driving significant growth by supporting highly visible client transformations worldwide, shaped by today’s major global mega-trends.

Since 2024, Thomas has served on Bain & Company’s Board of Directors and is the firm’s elected Lead Director of the Board.

With nearly three decades of professional experience and a deep passion for leading high-performing client teams. He primarily advises clients on transformations, incl. value creation plans, full-potential programs, reorganization, as well as M&A and post-merger integration.

Previously, he spent 13 years as managing partner of the Switzerland office, during which he led Bain’s new director training program.

Before joining Bain, Thomas worked at ABB Power Generation, managing large-scale international projects across Asia and Europe. He holds an MBA from INSEAD and an Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from ETH Zurich. He is married and has three children.
