Shyam Unnikrishnan

Shyam Unnikrishnan is the Managing Partner of Bain & Company's India offices. He has previously led the firm’s Innovation & Design practice for Asia Pacific. He is also a leader in the Retail, Consumer Products, Strategy, and Digital practices.

With nearly two decades of global consulting experience, Shyam has worked across Bain’s Sydney, Atlanta, and New Delhi offices and is currently based in Bengaluru.

He has advised clients across multiple regions and brings extensive cross-market expertise across a range of topics, including full potential strategy, new market entry, sales acceleration, customer experience enhancement, commercial due diligence, and merger integration.

Passionate about mentorship and developing the next generation of leaders, Shyam was awarded our firm's prestigious Bright-Dix award in 2018 for exceptional contribution to professional development. He was the first recipient of this global award from Bain India. In 2019, he was recognized in the “ET 40 Under Forty” list, which celebrates young business leaders making a significant impact in their fields.

Shyam received an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, and a B.E. (Hons.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from BITS, Pilani.
